I think that Season 5's lighting is more exaggerated, since lots of S5 episodes add lighting to the side of the characters while I didn't see that much in S4. Also, S5 episodes seem to have lots of contrast between light and dark spots in a scene while S4 scenes seem to lack that somewhat.
