Deema seems to be one of the more social guppies and hardly ever frowns.
In Ducks in a Row!, she called Gil "drummer-boy". She seems to like giving "pet names" usually during the shop segments, as she called Molly and Oona "kitten", "dear" or "sweetie".
Deema occasionally waves to the viewers during a montage as a way of breaking the fourth wall. She has waved to the viewers in Can You Dig It? during the excavation, in X Marks the Spot! when the gang crossed Buccaneer Bridge, and in The Police Cop-etition! during the guppies' police graduation ceremony.
Deema is the only guppy to normally wear jewelry. She wears a pair of orange hoop earrings.
In Happy Clam Day!towards the end of the episode, Deema says, "The suspense is maddening!" This is one of her most well-known quotes.
Deema is the first Guppy to have a daydream sequence. This occurs in the end of Tooth on the Looth!when she imagines her visit from the Tooth Fairy.
Deema is the first and only guppy to lose a tooth on screen, which was in Tooth on the Looth!.
In Season 2, Deema has starred as the shop's owner in all of the shop segments until Tooth on the Looth! where Goby has the role of the shop owner instead.
In Humunga-Truck!, it is revealed that her favorite sort of truck is an ice cream truck.
The top of Deema's hair sort of resembles the preschool that she attends.
Her hair also resembles the hair of another Nickelodeon character, Didi Pickles (Tommy's mother) from Rugrats.
Sometimes, in pictures, Deema's hair is flipped around in the other direction, if we turn the head and look at the picture below so that Deema is right side up, we'll notice that her hair is different.
Since Season 2, whenever a shop segment takes place, Deema sets the shop up by saying "Well, you've certainly come to the right place!"
A funny gag that some people might not notice is how Deema is able to get her big hair into small hats, like when she is wearing pirate's bandana in X Marks the Spot!
During the puddleball game, and in the episode Puddleball!, and in the "Sporty Style" music video version of Rock Your Style! from the two-part episode Guppy Style!, Deema was wearing her baseball cap backwards.
She is one of only two guppies who know Spanish, the other being Goby. During the adventure segment in Firefighter Gil to the Rescue, she says the phrase "muy caliente" which translates to "very hot".
In Fruit Camp!, Deema tried broccoli for the first time.
In the episode Bubble Baby!, Deema said she used to have a pet turtle named Beyonda.
In The Cowgirl Parade!, Deema made an expression that shows that she might have feelings for Goby.
Deema's favorite sea animal is a narwhal, as seen in The New Guppy.
She and Gil (because of hair color) are the only two guppies who have blue eyes.

Deema has a habit of going upside down. This is seen in the show's opening.
Her name is of Arab origin, and it fittingly means "rainy cloud" as her hair is kind of cloud-shaped.
According to Jonny Belt, Deema was based on Jo Anne Worley from Rowan & Martin's Laugh In. She also has similarities to Goldie Hawn, being the stereotypical dumb blonde of all.
Deema's birthday was celebrated in Fogzilla!, making her the second Guppy to have their birthday celebrated, the first being Nonny in Secret Agent Nonny!. The third Guppy being Zooli in The Three Guppeteers!
In development, Deema's outfit was initially going to be pink.[1]
In a scene from It's a Holiday!, Deema seems to be separated from the others in a Thanksgiving feast and around Hanukkah festivities, hinting she could be Jewish. It is also likely because she has fair skin, curly hair, and of her similarities to Didi Pickles and Goldie Hawn (who are both Jewish as well).
Deema's first voice actress, Angelina Wahler, also voices Gabby from another Nick Jr. program Blaze and the Monster Machines from seasons 1-3.
She is actually the one to laugh with Mr. Grumpfish and get blown away by his singing.
