Frank Welker (born March 12, 1946) is an American voice actor and impressionist. He is best known for providing vocal effects for animals and creatures in animation, television, and film. In Bubble Guppies, he does the vocal effects for Bubble Puppy.
Welker has had a prolific career in voice acting, famously voicing Fred Jones in nearly every incarnation of Scooby-Doo since 1969, as well as voicing Scooby-Doo himself in more recent years. His other major roles include Megatron, Soundwave, and various Decepticons in The Transformers franchise, Abu in Aladdin, Nibbler in Futurama, and Curious George in the Curious George TV series and movies.
He is particularly renowned for creating realistic animal and creature sounds using only his voice. For example, he has been known to mimic lion roars by growling into a metal trash can to create a deeper, more powerful sound. He often combines vocal techniques with everyday objects to enhance sound effects, a skill that has made him one of the most sought-after vocal artists in the industry.
