Taste Buddies! is the 26th and final episode of Season 5. It premiered on September 30th, 2022.

Plot
When chefs Molly and Gil bring their tasty food truck to Bland Land, they discover that Baron von Bland only lets his subjects eat Bland Bread. Yuck!
Summary
The episode starts when Molly swims in with Bubble Puppy to greet the viewer. She then gets interrupted by Gil when he says "Something salty" as Oona brings a tray with pretzels underneath it. The second time that Molly gets interrupted is that Gil says "Something sour" and Goby brings some lemons. When Gil takes a bite of a lemon, his face squints. Then, the third time that Molly gets interrupted is when Gil says "Something sweet" as Oona brings a fish who gives him a kiss. Molly and Oona both say: "Awwwww...". Then Molly, Gil, Oona and the fish say "It's time for Bubble Guppies!".
In the classroom, Mr. Grouper (who is pretending to be Chef Grouper) wheels in a trolley of five different foods that will tickles the guppies' taste buds. Nonny explains that taste buds are little bumps on your tongue to tell how food tastes. Chef Grouper says the five different foods which are 'sweet strawberries', 'salty pretzels', 'bitter broccoli' and Deema makes a sour face and says 'and sour lemons', and the Guppies all laugh. Then, there was one last taste, 'umami'. Oona then gets confused and says 'who's mommy?'. Chef Grouper corrects her by saying that umami is the taste of mushrooms, meats and cheeses. Nonny explains that he likes cheese... a lot, with Chef Grouper agreeing. Then everyone thinks about the way foods tastes. After that, they all sing "We Got Good Taste".
Following the song, Mr. Grouper instructs all the guppies to line up, and they perform the outside song before introducing the roles of Molly and Gil as chefs in a food truck. The two drive around in their food truck from town to town, and are both called the "Taste Buddies!" Their truck hauls all foods with all sorts of tastes. Everyone loved the food, until the Taste Buddies found their way into Bland Land. The town was dark and depressing, with everyone being forced to eat bland bread every day for all of their meals. Once the Taste Buddies started serving their varieties of food to the town, everyone ran from their truck in fear, as the Taste Buddies were unaware of the presence of Baron von Bland and the strict rules in Bland Land. Soon, they were stopped by Nonny, acting as a police guard, alongside lobsters, noting through a megaphone that the food that they were serving was "against the rules."
When asked if the Taste Buddies wanted a sample, they agreed, and both tasted the bland bread, complaining about its blandness. Though, suddenly, the Baron suddenly came on the screen to monitor the suspicious activity occurring below. Nonny, the police guard, responded that they were "outsiders, and called themselves the Taste Buddies." Once the Taste Buddies attempted to introduce themselves, the Baron ordered silence, and seized their truck. This promoted the Taste Buddies to start running, which initiated a chase for them, as the lobsters starting chasing them. During their escape route, Deema ushered the two into her area, which hid them from the lobsters.
Once the coast was clear, Deema explained the horrid smell of her rotten food pile, and what the Baron had enacted to prevent her from farming fresh food. When Gil asked why "the baron would hate all of this food," Deema replied that "he never tried it," which gave Molly the idea to make the Baron tasty food, so he would have to try it. Molly decided to make a fruit salad, and composed the salad of grapes, bananas, sweet watermelon, and pineapple to make a delicious fruit salad. The Taste Buddies than left on a mission to make the Baron try their fruit salad.
At the Bland Bread Factory, workers were seen, with dull, lifeless expressions. They were operating the continuous machines, which make bland bread. Soon, however, an announcement came over the speakers, stating that "the Baron was coming," which sent the factory workers into panic as they scrambled to make sure that their sample of bland bread was up to perfection for the Baron. Once the Baron tasted their bread, he approved of its taste, but shortly after, Police Nonny came in with the Taste Buddies, who had been caught with a delicious fruit salad. Though, when Molly urged the Baron to try the salad, he refused, and stated that "he could have bland bread all day long." The Baron then firmly stated that they "do not try new things." Soon, however, both Molly and Gil were put on the bread line, and were forced to make bland bread.
Soon, the Taste Buddies were working along the bread line with the others. Suddenly, a whistle blew and a lobster announced "What time is it?", to which the response was a depressing "It's time for lunch..." After the lunch segment, Molly overheard a lobster discussing his desire to put something on the bland bread to make it tastier, which gave Molly an idea to make a sandwich for the Baron.
